At the October School Board Meeting, Mr. Hanaway shared the Union Township Middle School Learning and Data Report, highlighting student growth and success throughout the year.
The 2024–2025 ILEARN results show continued academic progress, a reflection of the effort and dedication of our students and staff. Mr. Hanaway also recognized several Union Township Middle School teachers who attended the meeting, thanking them for their daily commitment to teaching and learning.
A few highlights from his presentation included Union Township Middle School being ranked number one in the state for 7th grade ILEARN English scores, a tremendous achievement that reflects the hard work and dedication of our students and teachers.
Mr. Hanaway also shared how the daily Bearcat News has strengthened student connection and belonging by celebrating achievements, sharing updates, and fostering a positive school culture. In addition, the Bearcat Coins initiative continues to encourage positive behavior, responsibility, and school pride throughout the building.
Union Township Middle School continues to live out U.T.M.S.: Unity, Teaching and Learning, Motivated and Supports. From strong classroom instruction to a variety of clubs, athletics, and enrichment opportunities, students are engaged and connected to their school community.
