I began my career in 1984 as an elementary teacher in Elkhart, Indiana. I was fortunate to teach grade 3 and grade 5. Following seven years of teaching, I served as an elementary principal in Goshen and Chesterton, Indiana. After serving as a teacher, coach, elementary principal and coordinator, I was named superintendent in 2005. It is an honor and a privilege to lead the Union Township School Corporation. I am proud of the outstanding opportunities we offer "Every Student, Every Day". Our schools are committed to improving student achievement by meeting and exceeding national, state and district standards. To accomplish these goals, it is imperative we strengthen the partnership with the corporation’s educational team- students, parents, staff and community. It is through collaboration with our team that we provide a safe, nurturing and thriving educational environment for each of our children. Every member of the district’s certified and classified staff is committed to assisting parents with the success of their child or children. We enjoy the partnership we have with the Union Township Community to provide for our children. We are committed to continue providing our students with the best education and co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities.

Since 2008, I have had the privilege of working in the Union Township School Corporation. I feel extremely blessed to be part of a school community that has a dedicated and compassionate staff, involved parents and community and most importantly, outstanding students who put forth their best effort in all learning endeavors. I am honored and humbled to lead UTSC as Assistant Superintendent of Schools. Prior to this role, I was the principal of John Simatovich Elementary and guidance counselor at Wheeler High School. I began my career as a 5th grade elementary teacher in Indianapolis in 2000. I am a graduate of DePauw University, University of Michigan, Purdue University, Indiana Wesleyan University, and Indiana State University. I have a strong belief in collaborative leadership and teamwork in order to best serve the students, staff, and community of Union Township where everyone comes together to achieve our mission, "Every Student . . . Every Day!"  Together, we can ensure our children will achieve their very best, realize their unique potential, and embrace learning as a lifelong process. Our district has a history and a future of excellence. I look forward to every day at UTSC! Go Bearcats!

I am happy to have been born and raised in northwest Indiana and enjoys being part of our close knit communities. I am a graduate of Purdue University and hold degrees in Application Programming, and Systems Analysis and Design. I have 20 years of experience in the Information Technology field. I have worked in many industries including transportation, health care, financial industries, and now K12. I am committed to providing a technology rich environment where our students and faculty can thrive and achieve. It is a privilege to effect positive change in our student’s lives and provide them the resources to succeed.

Business Manager/Treasurer
Email Allen Cochran

Meet Mr. Allen Cochran, our Business Manager.  Mr. Cochran holds a B.A. in Psychology from Indiana University, an M.B.A from American InterContinental University, and a M.A. in Educational Leadership from Ball State University. Mr. Cochran spent 15 years as a teacher and 3 years as a building level school administrator before joining Union Township.

Allen values quality time with his wife and daughter and golfing when he isn't at work.  With his unique perspectives and commitment to family, he is a valuable member for the Union Township Schools community.

Mrs. Lemley joined the team in September 2015. She and her husband Dewey have two children, Kelsey and Kody. She values the time she spends with her family and is excited to be a part of the Bearcat Community!

Mrs. Gasienica joined our team in August 2016. Tammy is proud to say she is a Wheeler High School graduate and excited to be a part of the Bearcat team again! Tammy holds Degrees in Accounting and Business Administration. She has two children and values her time with family and friends.

Mrs. Ramirez joined our central office team in 2022. She was previously at Union Center for seven years as a building aide and media aide. Kerri and her husband Bob have two daughters, Gabriella and Matea, both are Wheeler Bearcats. Kerri makes it known that she is proud to be a part of the Bearcat Community!
