Welcome to John simatovich ELEMENTARY

Our school is located in unincorporated Union Township, Porter County, in Northwest Indiana, approximately fifty miles southeast of Chicago, Illinois. JSE is part of the Union Township School Corporation, which is a thirty square mile school district comprised of Union Center Elementary, John Simatovich Elementary School, Union Township Middle School and Wheeler High School, with a total enrollment of approximately 1700 students. The school district is composed of rural and suburban areas.

Kindergarten Round-Up

Union Twp — John Simatovich and Union Center Elementary School's will begin kindergarten round-up on Thursday, March 4 at 6:00 in their respective cafeterias. Please bring a certified birth certificate, 2 proofs of residency, and immunization records. A child must be 5-years-old on or before August 1, 2010 to go to kindergarten in the 2010-11 school year.

It is very important that parents pre-register their child so the school district will be able to provide enough classes and materials for all kindergarten students.
